From Buzzword to Results: Building an Innovation Engine for Organizations and Professionals

Over the last 12 years, I have developed a practical framework to move innovation from buzzwords to measurable results. It operates at two levels.

1. Individual capability — What competencies make someone a true innovation professional?
Inspired by professional models such as PMP and Lean Six Sigma, I developed:

  • 35-hour certification program and trained 60 professionals;
  • an Innovation Yellow Belt that reached 350 participants;
  • 12-module online program with the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec that will support thousands of public sector innovators.

2. Organizational capability — What conditions allow innovation to consistently produce results?
I developed a 6-pillar innovation framework currently used to structure innovation capability across 16,000 employees at Hydro-Québec, from ideas to implementation.

This session explores how professional competencies and organizational capability reinforce each other to create an innovation engine that delivers results reliably.
