Road-testing EDGY: Building a Community-Of-Practice for Whole-Enterprise Change

We are a small collective of practitioners helping organisations with the tsunami of change being thrust upon them across every scope and scale. We wanted to try out EDGY to help us grow a community of like-minded practitioners to manage that rising global need.

Our methods encompass the full enterprise scope, but are built for use by architects and designers. EDGY provided us with a friendlier, more accessible means to draw people into the conversations about structure, story and change.

Lessons learned include:

  • How to use EDGY fractally to address whole-enterprise scopes on all levels of the organisation;
  • How to avoid 'blind-spots' when focussing on single EDGY facets or intersections;
  • How to link EDGY to whole-enterprise methods to guide strategy, architecture, design, implementation, effectiveness and shared-learning;

This presentation documents our step-by-step process and progress on this journey, how we used EDGY, and now plan to use it in future collaborations.
