You have a great vision for a new way to work, a new way to organize, a new way to serve your customers. You go to implement that vision, only to discover that you either don’t have the data you require or the data you do have is of poor quality. A change that was going to be difficult from a cultural point of view, and perhaps even from a business point of view, suddenly becomes even more challenging from a technology point of view.
Some people claim that data is the new oil, but in practice data is really the new water – without clean and sufficient data your organization cannot thrive. Clean data is required for better decision making, for better business processes, and for building and running better artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. In this talk Scott Ambler explores industry statistics on the impact of poor-quality data, the organizational implications of the water metaphor, and show how organizations must address data problems at the source.
