Enterprises need to be re-imagined in this era of artificial intelligence. All aspects of enterprise across people, process, technology, and business are being disrupted. Yet, changes to the enterprise across all of these aspects need to be aligned and harmonized holistically. The first principles of the enterprise architecture discipline teach us how to bring about such alignment and harmony by modeling the enterprise as a system and using the model to guide strategy and execution of the envisioned transformations. But how do we apply these principles in practice to the whole enterprise at scale in a short time? By teaching AI to learn from the knowledge and data about the enterprise, AI capability can be harnessed to bring a holistic approach to addressing enterprise pain-points and opportunities at scale. Enterprise design efforts can be guided by what-if analyses enabled by simulations and digital twins assisted by AI.
